Jose Benavidez Sr:‘They made a mistake’

Jose Benavidez Sr., the father and trainer of David Benavidez, spoke briefly with Fight Hub TV regarding his son's impending encounter with David Morrell. Although Benavidez Sr. respects Morrell, he acknowledges that he thinks Morrell and his squad could have seasoned themselves more before engaging in such a brawl, which could have resulted in him suffering a beating that would have changed his career against his son. Below are some of Benavidez Sr.'s comments regarding the altercation. "I think David Morrell is a fantastic fighter; he has a great amateur background, has won two world titles, is young, strong, and many people don't want to fight him," Benavidez Sr. stated. However, there are tiers to this mess. I think Benavidez, the boxer, is on a different level and will probably stop him in the ninth or tenth round. "Benavidez is currently very driven both emotionally and physically and is training really hard.Benavidez is hammering hard right now; he's really amazing. First of all, Morton is anxious because this is the first time he has been in this level. He lacks the necessary experience. He has 12 or 11 fights, and yes, he has a lot of knockouts, but you are expected to knock out all of your first opponents. He didn't look so good in the last one. His entire team is anxious because, in my opinion, they erred by including him (in this fight) too early. To see where he's at, I would have liked to see him against Caleb Plant, "Boo Boo" Andrade, or perhaps a McCumby. However, he wants to intervene immediately with a monster—the Mexican Monster? They made a mistake, in my opinion. He will most likely be so severely injured by (Benavidez) that he will quit and change because, if you go back, where are all of the fighters that (Benavidez) has fought now?
