Garcia DROPS Hint: “Can’t Wait”
Ryan Garcia said on X today that he "can't wait" to reveal to his supporters who he will be facing next. He claims that fans can't claim that he only picks "weak fights," which is a clue that he won't be rematching with Devin Haney because fans would consider the fight to be weak.
De La Hoya's Impact
These fighters are among the contenders that many think Ryan (24-1, 20 KOs) might face next:
Lopez Teofimo and Lomachenko Vasily
Oscar De La Hoya, the head of Golden Boy Promotions, has stated that he wants Teofimo (21-1, 13 KOs) to be Ryan's next opponent, making him the most likely of those two. Teofimo met Turki Al-Sheikh while attending the Ring Awards celebration in London. Since Teo has no opponent and competes in the same division as Ryan at 140, the battle is simple.
One of the most well-liked boxers in the class, Teofimo continues to hold the WBO light welterweight belt. Given Teo's ability to pique fans' curiosity, that would be a fantastic battle with enormous promotion potential. Ryan wouldn't have to put in as much effort as he did when he battled Devin Haney.
If Devin and Bill don't try to control Ryan by acting like the A-side and demanding that he submit to VADA testing, Kingry and Haney will probably fight again in 2025. Despite the fact that their fight in April was one-sided, boxing fans are nonetheless eager for a rematch.
Staying Out of the Mud
If you're Garcia, you might want to get rid of Haney and move on for good. He will probably ruin the promotion if he fights him by reminding the media and fans that Kingry tested positive for Ostarine in the last bout. Ryan's name will probably be brought up a lot during the fight because Devin will probably bring it up so much. His reputation would be damaged, thus there would be no win.
A Fresh Start
Fans that believe Garcia is a drug cheat because Haney has repeatedly informed them that he was dirty for the last bout will never be able to move on. The fight with Devin would not be worth Ryan's time in the long run. Although it would be acceptable if Haney stopped discussing Garcia's positive test, he was already talking extensively about it during interviews at his London workout last week.
