Aline Pereira hopes to quit delivering for Amazon

When Aline Pereira's fighting career takes off, she plans to leave her side job behind and provide a good life for her family in the US. This is her American dream. In Friday's Karate Combat bout in Miami, the younger sister of current UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira will face off against Amanda Torres, a last-minute substitute. She hopes to "live only for the sport" one day and revels in training with MMA greats like her brother "Poatan" and former UFC champion Glover Teixeira in the days leading up to that competition. Pereira followed in her brother's footsteps by establishing a kickboxing career. In 2022 and 2023, she attempted a transfer to mixed martial arts (MMA), competing 1-2 times under the LFA banner. Her October debut featured a highlight-reel knockout victory over Dee Begley, and she is now contracted with Karate Combat. Karate Combat offers a decent salary increase compared to kickboxing and mixed martial arts, but Pereira claims she still has to put in a lot of extra work to make ends meet in between bouts. "We do what we have to do," Pereira told MMA Fighting, adding that he does deliveries for Amazon. "The routine is exhausting, but it all works out in the end, because we still have to accommodate the training hours and the job." In the time that Pereira is not training for a bout, he gets up at 2:30 in the morning and drives the ten minutes to an Amazon warehouse to collect packages to deliver. The choice to get up so early, she said, was to avoid traffic and guarantee that she would have time to train later. "It's not easy," Pereira remarked. Our delivery window is 4.5 hours. Being here, nevertheless, is fantastic. The US is great for my son and me as well. In order to advance in the combat sports industry, Pereira is aiming for another win on Friday. She plans to return to mixed martial arts in the future and is currently focused on establishing a career at Karate Combat, but she is still training at Glover Teixeira's gym for jiu-jitsu and wrestling. Pereira expressed her excitement and joy over her debut performance. "Karate Combat is rather unique, isn't it? Like the last time, I will come prepared this time. Another show will be staged by me. Being a part of the promotion is becoming more exciting as it continues to expand. The athlete is highly esteemed by them. … We prepare for [a knockout], don't we? I can't come here and guarantee a knockout, even though my brother and I are extremely technical and always aim for the knockout. Odd that my previous statement about knocking her unconscious was accurate. Normally I wouldn't say this before an argument, but she was being quite disrespectful.
