Munguia’s Career On The Line
Munguia’s Career On The Line
Bruno Surace and Jaime Munguia will rematch at super middleweight on May 3rd as the main support fight on the undercard of Canelo Alvarez vs. William Scull in Riyadh. Saudi Arabia.
Arne Slot acknowledges that his Liverpool team's victory over Bournemouth might have required some luck.
According to Salvador Rodriguez, Munguia (44-2, 35 KOs) will take on the undefeated Surace (26-0-2, 5 KOs), who defeated him in six rounds on December 14th of last year in Tijuana, Mexico.
Suicide of a Career?
Munguia, 28, made a foolish decision by jumping into the rematch without first obtaining a workout to assist him move past what the Frenchman Bruno Surace did to him two months ago. Munguia must have had a disturbing experience. Jaime won't last long before being knocked down again if there are any lingering effects from that knockout.
Munguia has too many miles on his odometer from a lengthy career to be taking the kind of shots that the younger, fresher Surace will be giving him, thus this guy is completely inappropriate for him. Munguia has suffered serious injuries as a result of his 46 fights over his career. Not only did Munguia defeat Surace, but he also defeated Canelo, Erik Bazhinyan, Sergiy Derevyanchenko, and Gary O'Sullivan.
The 26-year-old Surace didn't have a reputation for being a puncher going into the fight last December, but it was clear from the second round that his cobra-like right hand was deadly. In that round, Munguia had dropped him.
Surace struck Munguia with a lightning-fast right hand as soon as the action slowed down, and it was unexpected that the Mexican fighter managed to stay upright. In rounds three, four, and five, Surace kept hitting Munguia with the identical shot until he knocked him out in the sixth.
Simple Income for Surace
Munguia should consider retirement if Surace knocks him out once again since things will only get worse for him. Munguia may be able to save his career by dropping back to 160, but even in that weight class, there are certain killers like Janibek Alimkhanuly and Hamzah Sheeraz who will complete the task that Surace began.
At this stage of his career, Munguia appears to be in complete ruins. The problem is that he was never good in the first place and was more of a protected hype job, fabricating a certain belief in order to obtain large sums of money against Canelo. He is now a spent shell, like a spider that produces eggs and dies, having finished his duty.
