For good reason, Randy Brown and Nicolas Dalby are staples on the main card. Both of the seasoned welterweight champions received an additional $50,000 for their thrilling matchup at UFC Kansas City on Saturday. After his highlight-reel knockout of a heavily injured Dalby in the second round, Brown raised his hand, but both fighters can now proudly add bonuses to their collections. Brown wins UFC Fight of the Night for the first fight, whereas Dalby has won it three times. Malcolm Wellmaker, who made his UFC debut, and Zhang Mingyang, who won the co-main event, received Performance of the Night bonuses. Zhang easily defeated Anthony Smith, bludgeoning Smith with strikes in the opening round and forcing the former light heavyweight title contender into a pre-announced retirement. Once he had the upper hand, "Mountain Tiger" was unrelenting, slapping Smith with an elbow and leaving the canvas covered in blood. Wellmaker, a newcomer to the Dana White Contender Series, put Cameron Saaiman down for the count with only one strong right hook in his debut, and he looked amazing. Wellmaker's professional record now stands at 9-0 after the victory.
