Tom Aspinall’s father frustrated over waiting for Jon Jones fight
While waiting for the opportunity to face champion Jon Jones, Tom Aspinall and his father are growing a little impatient.
After having to defend his interim title against Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304, Aspinall, the interim UFC heavyweight champion, had to watch Jones defend his title against Stipe Miocic, who hadn't competed in almost four years, for the first time.
In a recent video, Aspinall's father vented his concerns.
Aspinall posted on his son's YouTube channel, "It's dumb." The UFC doesn't really want Tom to fight anyone but Jon Jones, and I don't know why.

The message they wanted Tom to convey to people was, "Stay tuned." We met with Hunter [Campbell], and they are attempting to resolve the altercation with Jon Jones. However, it is still April, and I don't fully comprehend why this man would say, "I'll have a fight," or "I won't have a fight." He should be fighting since he is a fighter.
"Why does he still sit around without responding when asked if he plans to fight or not?"
Despite the MMA community's apparent growing lack of faith in Aspinall, UFC CEO Dana White has maintained his belief that the UFC can pull off the fight between Jones and Aspinall, even as Aspinall approaches a year without a fight.
Aspinall must guide his kid through the challenging waters of deciding what to do next when the prospect of a battle with Jones is out into the universe.
"What else is there for him to do?" Aspinall inquired. "He can fight guys who are less skilled and ranked than Jon Jones, but it means he might pass up the chance to face the champion and greatest of all time, Jon Jones. It would be fantastic if Tom defeated him.
"What else is there for him to do but sit around? Why should No. 1 battle No. 8 when he could now take on the eighth-ranked opponent? I think it's all a little foolish.
Aspinall's legacy and finances would undoubtedly be greatly impacted by a bout for the undisputed heavyweight title against one of the greatest of all time, but waiting still costs him money, particularly during his best years.
"Really, it's a huge pain in the ass," Aspinall remarked. Given that he is a fighter, it would be wonderful to engage in combat. He's had three battles that have lasted one minute each, and while that's the way it is, we could need more bouts.
"This is life, and you should be earning money from it, especially while you're healthy and fit, instead of just sitting around and going to training all the time."
