Jon Jones, Nate Diaz sign on as coaches for Russian reality show
In the second season of the Russian combat show ALF Reality, which was created by influencer Alfredo Auditore, the MMA celebrities have agreed to coach the opposite teams.
Jones also posted the announcement on Instagram, which you can see below.
Although it's unclear what Jones and Diaz will be expected to do in their coaching positions, if the antics of Season 1 coaches Petr Yan and Aljamain Sterling are any guide, they should have plenty of chances to flaunt their personalities and butt heads.
On ALF Reality 1, Sterling took over as coach opposite Yan, replacing friend and teammate Merab Dvalishvili. The matchup allowed the boxers to rekindle their two-fight rivalry, in which Yan was disqualified and Sterling won the bantamweight title—a moment the Russian did not allow Sterling to forget.
As he awaits his next booking, which seems to depend on his readiness to take on interim champion Tom Aspinall—a matchup in which Jones has showed little interest—Jones, the UFC heavyweight champion, embarks on another project. In his most recent bout, which took place at UFC 309 in November, he defeated Stipe Miocic via third-round TKO to successfully defend his title.
After leaving the UFC in 2022 after 15 years with the organization, Diaz has remained active. He has fought twice in professional boxing, losing to Jake Paul by unanimous decision in 2023 and defeating fellow MMA star Jorge Masvidal by majority decision in 2024.
