In Doncaster, England, Terri Harper defeated a game, tough, and ultimately overmatched Natalie Zimmermann by unanimous decision to maintain her WBO lightweight title. Harper (16-2-2, 6 KO) prevailed at Eco-Power Stadium, home of Doncaster Rovers FC, in her hometown, with scores of 99-91 from all three judges. Although Zimmermann (13-1, 3 KO) put forth a lot of effort and obviously did her best, the 42-year-old German simply isn't on Harper's level. That's not to say there isn't anything to be critical of Harper in this fight, though, as she still displayed some weaknesses that have previously hurt her in higher-level bouts. Harper, 28, says she wants unity next, but it's a clear and well-earned victory for her.
