Eddie Hearn talks Deontay Wilder’s return
Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn discusses a few topics with Fight Hype, including what he believes Deontay Wilder (43-4-1, 42 KOs) still has to give as he prepares to face Tyrrell Anthony Herndon (24-5, 15 KOs) on June 27.
Hearn shares his thoughts on Wilder's professional situation. Wilder is clearly trying to recover from a run of fights in which he has lost four of his last five, three of which were by knockout.
"I don't think the fight will reveal much, but it will give us the assurance of victory," Hearn stated. "He needs to put in a lot of effort if he struggles against this person. However, we had signed him to fight Deontay Wilder, and we were announcing it in Saudi Arabia an hour ago; he lost to Joseph Parker. I hope he can win well, though.
If he continues to win, perhaps the Joshua fight will be discussed once more. I don't rule out a fight, but I don't think people are giving Wilder much of a chance against AJ at the moment. Hopefully, though, he can start looking good again.
