Abdullah Mason (19-0, 17 KO) beat Jeremia Nakathila (26-5, 21 KO) in the main event of ESPN's lightweight show tonight. Mason would use his quickness and sharp punches to slowly put pressure on Nakathila. In the third round, Nakathila started to exhibit the first symptoms of serious distress, which was a good omen for Mason. Mason would slash Nakathila's left eye badly and give him a bruise in the fourth round. Between the fourth and fifth rounds, Nakathila would say he wasn't feeling well, which made the ringside doctor check him out. Nakathila basically said he couldn't see, therefore the referee had to suggest that the fight be stopped. It officially ended at 0:01 of Round 5. With the win, Mason gets closer to his first chance to earn a world title.
