The UFC 316 co-main event was almost sure to be an amazing fight after months of bad blood between the two top women. Harrison showed early on in the battle that she can fight under pressure and in front of a lot of people, putting pressure on "The Venezuelan Vixen" right away. Harrison took the champion down just over halfway through round one. She then tried to keep her on the ground before moving up and landing some strong ground-and-pound. Things went wrong for Pena when she hit Harrison with three up kicks in a row, which led to an immediate point deduction. Pena knew she had to come out in round two and hit the challenger hard, but things just got worse.
