"I would prefer to fight him in the street," Yair Rodriguez and Diego Lopes argue over Noche UFC.

It seems the organization wanted to schedule a featherweight matchup between Diego Lopes and Yair Rodriguez for this year's Noche UFC event after they got into some heated arguments during the last press conference before UFC 314 in April. Noche UFC 3, also known as UFC 320, was scheduled for September 13 in Guadalajara, Mexico. However, UFC 320 was rescheduled for October 4 in Las Vegas owing to construction delays at the Guadalajara venue, while the Noche UFC event scheduled for September 13 has been rescheduled for San Antonio. In a social media post on Sunday, Lopes stated that Rodriguez declined an invitation to compete against him at the concert on September 13. Salutations, Yair Rodríguez Lopes wrote in Spanish, "I just realized that you got a call from Hunter [Campbell] and declined to fight me at Noche UFC." "The man in front of me at the press conference is where?" Lopes lost the fight by decision, although he was just days away from taking on Alexander Volkanovski for the unclaimed title. Rodriguez anticipated he would be Volkanovski's next opponent after defeating former Bellator two-division champion Patricio Pitbull on the same card. Hours after Lopes' remarks, Rodriguez responded in a video, stating that he was contacted with an offer and giving the reason why "that doesn't make sense to me." Rodriguez stated, "As always, this damn sport is really hard, honestly. I'm currently traveling to Baku to support Ignacio Bajamondes in his next fight." Everything has become a circus, so I would really, truly enjoy it if things were a little different. To be honest. I saw that a****** Diego Lopes was saying that I didn't want to fight him, but it isn't true at all. To be honest, I was a little let down by the UFC for offering me a bout with him because, yes, they did just make that offer. Let's go back a little. What took place? Diego turned me down when I offered to fight him since I was fresh off a defeat. He wants to fight me now that he has suffered a defeat. I don't think that makes sense. That's one thing. Furthermore, it goes without saying that I have no trouble opposing him. In my opinion, a fight with him in the workplace accomplishes nothing, so I'd much rather fight him in the street. I won't get paid extra by them. It does absolutely nothing. The fact that he is coming off a defeat does not help me either. Rodriguez, a former UFC interim featherweight champion, also disclosed that he must renew his visa in order to enter the United States and deal with an injury for which a physician has recommended surgery. "I'm obviously taking every precaution to prevent that from happening," Rodriguez stated. However, let's see where this whole thing leads me—that's my stance, to be clear. I haven't declined the challenge. Conversely, I would be more than delighted to take on this little jerk and his entire pathetic team that hangs about there. Is that all there is to it? I just want people to understand where I stand because they're clearly starting to attack, and as always, it's very simple to attack someone when they're feeling low or hurt. Correct? That's that, though. In order to prevent surgery as much as possible, I will first assess my health. Otherwise, I will have to carry it out. Rodriguez, who defeated Bryce Mitchell on the same evening in Miami, suggested that Lopes schedule a bout with up-and-coming featherweight wonder Jean Silva in the interim. Rodriguez stated, "For the time being, I would like to see Diego stop escaping from Jean Silva and go take a swing at him." It appears like he is avoiding him, so if he is so ready for a battle, go fight Jean Silva. I am still here, by the way. I'm waiting to hear from them. Moments afterward, Lopes responded to the rumor that he had declined a prior UFC bout with the Mexican star with another social media post. Lopes posted on Instagram Stories, saying, "What a dumb thing to say I refused to fight." "The bout was previously planned to be UFC Mexico's main event in February. You were only circling around, but I had accepted. I was called to compete for the title after the UFC revised their plans. Street fights? I wouldn't advise that, dude. I am too composed since I am aware of my abilities. Having a referee involved is preferable. In a different post on X, he added, "Let's get to the facts." "The UFC contacted me to inquire about my health following the fight against Volk. I informed them of every suggestion I had received from the doctors. that in September, I would be prepared to battle. I accepted their offer of Aaron Pico. When they offered me Jean Silva two days later, I accepted. when Santo Antonio becomes the new location for UFC Night. Yes, I said, Yair Rodriguez. I also proposed to offer the battle against Lerone [Murphy] or Movsar [Evloev]. Ask Dana, Hunter, or Sean if I've ever declined a fight if you're unsure. I have to be genuinely unable of fighting or have a very serious health condition the day I decline or refuse a battle. I had 32 professional fights for a reason; taking fights was the foundation of my career.
