Fans Doubt Shakur’s Talent

In their undercard fight on July 12 in Queens, New York, Shakur Stevenson vows he would "make a statement" against William Zepeda. Stevenson (23-0, 11 KOs) seems to be upset with his X fans for saying he isn't good enough and that Zepeda (33-0, 27 KOs) will beat him. Fans Don't Believe Shakur's Skills People don't take Shakur seriously since they've seen him fight and think he's too weak to compete at the elite levels at 135. Stevenson was at his best when he was fighting at featherweight, and his lack of power didn't matter. "F*** what you all are saying, I'm coming to make a statement on July 12th!" Let's do it! 🦾😤 Shakur Stevenson declared on X that he would defend his championship against William Zepeda. It sounds like Stevenson's ego is messed up since his promoters keep giving him Josh Padley, Artem Harutyunyan, and Shuichiro Yoshino. They've been coddling Shakur, which has made him think he can do anything. That's the issue with promoters that want to make up fictional fighters to sell things. They make narcissists who think they're good and then push their promoters to put them up against boxers they can't beat. It has the Milli Vanilli syndrome. Shakur is a great example. "I think it's the best style." He kills individuals by drowning them. "He puts people in fights they don't want to be in, and I'm going to give him something he's not ready for," Shakur Stevenson told talkSport Boxing. When asked if he heard from Turki Alalshikh where a win over Zepeda would take him, Shakur responded, "The things I heard were fighting Tank." Zepeda: Shakur's style is a clash. I don't think Zepeda's approach is the best one for a light-hitter like Shakur who has glass hands. That's the worst style for someone who doesn't have any offense and is mostly just a defensive player. In his two battles against Tevin Farmer, we witnessed Zepeda beat a superior version of Shakur twice. He fights a lot like Shakur, except he's stronger and has a better chin. Farmer couldn't stop Zepeda, so he had to move and hold on to stay alive. When they fought again, Farmer appeared like he was giving up when he turned his back twice in the first few rounds while he was getting hit hard. It seemed like Farmer was giving up. Stevenson won't be able to handle Zepeda's firepower either if he can't hold and run. Stevenson said, "I guess it's me vs. Tank if Tank wins his fight [the Lamont Roach rematch] and I win my fight against Zepeda." Someone told Shakur that his next bout would be against Tank, but they were wrong. There is no certainty that fight will happen. The only way it happens is if Davis is paid a lot of money, and it's not certain if Turki Alalshikh would want to do that. It's not worth it because Shakur isn't famous enough.
