"Menace to society": Fans respond to the alleged Conor McGregor nightclub attack
Since 2014, Alexander K. Lee has been writing about combat sports for MMA Fighting.
Fans are tired of hearing about Conor McGregor's bad behavior outside of the cage.
The former two-division UFC champion's most recent embarrassing incident is said to have happened at a party in Ibiza, where he hit someone and knocked them down. The video of the event quickly went viral, and many people in the MMA community rolled their eyes at how far McGregor had fallen since he was one of the most recognizable sportsmen in the world.
Some of the phrases MMA Fighting commenters have used to describe McGregor's current situation include "absolute trainwreck," "menace to society," and "insecure sociopath." It's impossible to disagree with those points of view when you look at the 37-year-old's many public embarrassments. Recently, McGregor was found guilty in a civil complaint of sexual assault for an event that happened in Dublin in 2019. He is now facing another civil suit for sexual assault regarding an incident that allegedly happened in Miami in 2023.
This isn't even the first time he's been captured fighting on camera. at 2019, he was seen hitting an old man at a Dublin pub.
McGregor, who used to hold UFC belts at 155 pounds and 145 pounds, hasn't competed since he broke his leg in a loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021. Fans are really worried that they will never see him fight again.
