Nassourdine Imavov vs. Caio Borralho set for Paris main event

The main event of the UFC's return to Paris on Saturday, September 6, at the Accor Arena will be between Nassourdine Imavov and Caio Borralho. Early on Monday morning, UFC officials said that the two fighters would be fighting each other. The middleweights had been circling each other for months, but Imavov first agreed to be a backup for the title bout between champion Dricus du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev in August. Imavov ultimately chose to be active rather than remain inactive, therefore he withdrew from the role of backup for the title bout and instead accepted the main event in Paris. Imavov is currently on an outstanding five-bout unbeaten streak. His most recent battle, in February, ended with a spectacular knockout of former middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. Imavov may have had a championship chance if Chimaev hadn't already taken the No. 1 contender spot. Now, though, he will try to make sure everyone knows where he stands in the division when he competes in September. Borralho, on the other hand, is a Fighting Nerds star who has a perfect 7-0 record in the UFC, with wins over Jared Cannonier, Paul Craig, and Abus Magomedov. Borralho has been calling out Imavov for a battle for the past few months, and now he is getting his dream. The two middleweights will face in the main event at UFC battle Night in Paris. The UFC is anticipated to add more fights to the bill soon, as the promotion is going back to Paris on September 6.
