‘He’s going to regret those words’: Sheeraz remains confident ahead of Berlanga clash.
‘He’s going to regret those words’: Sheeraz remains confident ahead of Berlanga clash.
Hamzah Sheeraz talked to Boxing Social earlier today about how things have been going in camp as he gets ready to fight Edgar Berlanga this weekend in Queens, New York. Below are some of the things he said.
Sheeraz talks about the major change in his training camp.
"Just the sense of calmness, just the sense of assurance in the work that I'm doing—the quality of work I'm doing is also very different from what I was doing before. I don't think it was wrong, but I think I'm a lot better suited for the work I'm doing today with Andy Lee.
On having a different personality than Berlanga, who has been talking crap about him a lot.
"It's not hard for me to keep my cool because I don't get emotionally involved in much, to be honest. I'm very cool, and I know that he'll regret what he said as long as that switch turns on fight night.
On Berlanga thinking he's better than him
"That's fine if that's what will get him excited or make him think he has a chance to win on Saturday night."
On stepping up and making weight for this fight
"The cut isn't as bad, and I can be on weight after just one training session, so it's very nice." I suppose that's why I'm so calm and at peace: I know I don't have to fight with the scales.
