UFC legend Randy Couture suffers serious injuries
Randy Couture, a UFC legend, was flown to a burn center after a car wreck when he was practicing at a race track in Kansas City. He had serious injuries.
The 62-year-old UFC Hall of Famer was getting ready to make his first appearance on the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) this year when he got into a severe accident during a practice drive on Tuesday. Couture had first- and second-degree burns on his body, as well as injuries from trauma and smoke inhalation.
The automobile Couture was driving crashed, and he was then flown to a nearby burn clinic for treatment. He is still there healing. On Wednesday, MMA Fighting heard from people close to Couture who confirmed his injuries. However, the former UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion is anticipated to get better.
There is no news yet about what caused the accident that hurt Couture.
The word about the crash came from TMZ first.
Couture has been training and working toward racing for several months now, as the MMA legend adds more jobs to his portfolio.
Couture said in an interview a few weeks ago that racing cars is a "different animal" from even competing in MMA, where he is largely considered one of the best of all time.
Couture remarked, "I've liked racing for 12 or 13 years." "From up in the stands, it looks really easy. They just go fast..." It has so much more to do.
Couture was one of only a few two-division champions in UFC history. After he stopped fighting, he became a coach, commentator, and actor. He started Xtreme Couture, which is still one of the most famous gyms in Las Vegas. He is also a member of the PFL broadcast crew and has been in many movies and TV series in the past few years.
