Manny Pacquiao vs Mario Barrios result to a draw

Manny Pacquiao didn't win his comeback fight at age 46 tonight, but he also didn't lose it. In Las Vegas, Pacquiao and Mario Barrios fought for 12 rounds and ended in a majority draw. Barrios kept his WBC welterweight belt. One judge gave him a score of 115-113, and the other two judges gave him a score of 114-114. Unofficially, Bad Left Hook gave Barrios the win by scores of 114-114 and 115-113. Pacquiao (62-8-3, 39 KO) looked well for his age, but you can tell he's getting older, which is normal. He hasn't won a fight this decade yet. He only fought once in the 2020s, and that was when he lost to Yordenis Ugas in 2021. Barrios (29-2-2, 18 KO) got out to a good start, but it felt like he couldn't "turn the screw," as British analysts would say, until the last three rounds. Then he eventually turned up the pressure a bit and started landing more consistently again. Barrios won the last three rounds on all three scorecards, which gave him the majority draw. Pacquiao said, "I thought I won the fight." "It was a close fight; my opponent was really strong. Barrios is a great boxer. I looked for a method to end the fight, but my opponent was too tough and not careless. He throws punches in groups and (excellent defense)—it's hard. When asked how he compared to the 2021 version, Pacquiao stated, "I'm more tactical than I was before." I'm being more careful. But I need to be more aggressive and hit more. That's how I do things. Pacquiao claimed he "thinks" he will fight again and wants to fight again. "I thought I had it, but I tip my hat to Manny. It was a real honor to share the ring with him," Barrios said. "We gave it our all in the ring." Nothing except love and respect for Manny. He was still strong as heck, had great time and rhythm, and was still hard to figure out as a fighter.” Barrios claimed he would "definitely" give Pacquiao another chance.
