‘Never question my character’: Anthony Yarde opens up about accepting the fight with David Benavidez.

Anthony Yarde talks to Ring Magazine about his impending title fight with David Benavidez. This will be the third time he has fought for a world title. Yarde hasn't won the big fight yet, but he's not giving up as he heads into the showdown. He wants to finally break through. Here are some parts of Yarde below. Yarde on going on the hardest fights at light heavyweight "Never doubt my character." I think I only really know what someone is like once I've fought them. I don't care how they fought other people. We saw it with Beterbiev. I gave him one of his toughest battles before the Bivol fight. It hurt him and cut him, which no one expected. And I read what people were saying. They thought I would get cleaned out like everyone else. "But I was ahead on the scorecards, I learned a lot from the fight, I could take something from it, and again, it just shows my character." I will fight anyone. About how violent Benavidez is known to be. "I think people knew Beterbiev as a puncher who did more damage. When it comes to Benavidez, I think he's more of a volume, pressure boxer. I don't care, though. I don't care if they're great fighters or great punchers. And if you look at the folks I've fought, I've fought them while I was still new to the sport. I don't care. If he worries he won't be able to get over the hump, this is his third shot for a world crown. "No." No way... I only care about what I think of myself. A lot of people in this world can't have that talk. They can't say what they really think of themselves, if they're proud of themselves, if they went after things, if they put it all on the line... I can look in the mirror and see my own eyes and say, "Yeah, he's faced every fear in his body and in his bones." If he thinks he can knock out Benavidez "100%." I believe the fight is fascinating because people know I'm going to be the underdog. You have to give him credit for that. But they also know that I'm one of those individuals who doesn't even think of a banana as a slippery fruit; it's okra. People are saying, "This guy is going to do it," so I think it's one of those things where everyone is looking forward to seeing what happens.
