Bill Haney Fires Back At Eddie Hearn

Hearn's Claim Hearn added that Devin's attempts to set up fights with Jaron "Boots" Ennis and Teofimo Lopez showed him that Devin is only interested in making money right now. He thinks that Haney and Bill are making strategic plays by going after those two. Hearn adds that Haney's bout with Devin, who is scheduled to fight Brian Norman Jr. for the WBO welterweight title on November 22nd, is "dangerous." He doesn't think he can beat Norman Jr. Hearn thinks this fight is another sign that Haney and Bill are being careless in their search for money. Bill, Devin's dad, went on X today to hit back at Hearn and remind him that he had never made a fighter who was undisputed, three-division, and three continents by the time he was 26. Bill is getting ahead of himself when he says Devin is in three divisions because he hasn't done it yet. It can't be done. Haney will be 27 years old on November 17, 2025. His bout against Brian Norman Jr., the WBO welterweight champion, comes on November 22. Bill said in his post today on social media that Devin will be a three-division world champion if he wins, but he won't have done it by age 26. The Unanswered Charge Bill didn't respond to Hearn's claim that Devin was only fighting for money at this point in his career, which is interesting. Bill should have made it clear that he and Devin are not motivated by money right now. It would have been better for the crowd and the press. "When he first started, all he wanted to do was chase greatness." I don't think he is that way anymore. Eddie Hearn told Australian Boxing Central that he thinks a major part of Devin is just fighting for the money. "Bill and Devin aren't thinking about strategy. They're searching for the bag. They're saying, "Where can we get our $5–6–7 million?" Hearn stated, "That's why they said they would fight [Jaron] 'Boots' [Ennis] at 147 and Teofimo [Lopez].
