McGregor insists he’s set to face Michael Chandler when the UFC heads to the White House.

Conor McGregor is making a prediction. Michael Chandler is the name of the opponent that the former two-division UFC champion expects to face as he prepares to fight for the first time in almost four years. He hopes to fight on the UFC White House card in 2026. McGregor told Fox & Friends about the news. "The Mac is definitely looking forward to coming back." McGregor said, "I'm on [the White House card]." "This is me. "[I'm fighting] Michael Chandler." Michael Chandler and I have been on The Ultimate Fighter together, and we've had a lot of fun arguing. He is a strong, good man. McGregor looks sure, but UFC CEO Dana White has said several times that he won't be making fights for the UFC White House event until next February. However, White did say that he has been in touch with McGregor a lot and that the Irish superstar seems extremely serious about coming back to the historic occasion at the White House. Since his trilogy with Dustin Poirier, McGregor hasn't fought because he damaged his leg in a horrible way. He coached against Chandler on The Ultimate Fighter, and they were supposed to fight in June 2024, but McGregor fractured his toe while preparing, which made the fight impossible. The fight was never rescheduled. That could change now that McGregor seems set on competing at the UFC White House card, which is probably good news for Chandler as well. Just a few days ago, he told MMA Fighting that he wanted to fight on the UFC White House card next, and he hoped that McGregor would be his opponent. Chandler claimed, "I think we're closer now than we've ever been" to making the McGregor fight happen. "I've always said that if you like to bet, don't put money on him coming back, but now things are very different." "In my heart of hearts, I believe I'm fighting Conor McGregor at the White House, and that makes a lot of sense for a lot of reasons." It looks like McGregor is on board too, so now it's up to the UFC to finally make the fight happen.
