Emotional night for Deiveson Figueiredo
Emotional night for Deiveson Figueiredo
Deiveson Figueiredo was quite emotional after beating Montel Jackson at UFC Fight Night 261.
Figueiredo (25-5-1 MMA, 14-5-1 UFC) says that even though he was sure he was the proper winner, Jackson (15-3 MMA, 9-3 UFC) did surprise him with one thing.
Figueiredo remarked on the ESPN+ post-fight program, "It was kind of surprising how well he was able to defend my takedown attempts and everything." "But we worked incredibly hard. He did hit him at the conclusion of the first round, but that was it. I was able to fight well.
Figueiredo, who is 37 years old, didn't take the opportunity for granted. Every Brazilian on the list harassed UFC matchmakers for a spot on the card, but Figueiredo, a previous champion, was one of the lucky few. He didn't take the time for granted.
Figueiredo said, "It's amazing." "It's very, really great to be able to live this moment with a lot of other people and feel like a champion. It spreads. It's incredible.
Figueiredo is now looking to the future after UFC Fight Night 261. If he has time, he'd want to sneak in one more this year.
Figueiredo added, "I'll fight whenever UFC wants me to." "Maybe at the end of the year." Maybe the UFC can help me get ready to fight for the belt if they want.
