Larissa Pacheco speaks out about her PFL release: "I'm not the one to blame."
Larissa Pacheco, a two-time PFL champion, is no longer on the company's roster, and she appears unhappy with how things turned out.
Pacheco talked about her release from PFL in a video she posted to her Instagram stories over the weekend. She said she had signed a fight agreement, but the organization had not yet announced the fight. Sadly, PFL canceled the bout and took her off the roster.
Pacheco remarked, "I was already in camp and training." "I had to end the camp because they called off the battle that was supposed to happen. I have the contract, and soon you'll know a lot more. You will soon know what I am going to do next, but for now I am working and doing my part. I know that God is in charge, and we will soon have something booked, okay?
Pacheco won two PFL tournaments as a featherweight and a lightweight. One of those wins was over Kayla Harrison, who would go on to become the UFC champion. However, she hasn't fought since losing a decision to Cris Cyborg in October 2024.
Pacheco stated she can't give any details about why she left PFL right now.
Pacheco stated, "There are a lot of news out there." "Some things I can say, and some things I can't yet." But I saw something I can tell regarding my PFL release. I'm not the one that did something wrong. I did my part and fought. They let me go for reasons that I'll explain soon, and it's not my fault. You need to know that I've done my part. "I'm free right now," I said.
In 2014 and 2015, Pacheco (23-5) fought in the UFC twice, losing bantamweight fights to Jessica Andrade and Germaine de Randamie. Pacheco has subsequently stepped up in weight and won 13 of 16 fights, including fights against Karol Rosa, Sarah Kaufman, and Julia Budd, as well as a 1-2 run against Harrison.
