Haney dominates Norman to capture WBO welterweight title

Devin Haney delivered a powerful statement in his move up to welterweight, capturing the WBO Welterweight Title with a dominant performance over Brian Norman Jr.. The official scorecards read 117–110, 116–111 and 114–113 in favour of Haney. From the opening rounds, Haney’s jab and movement controlled the action, and a second‑round knockdown shifted the momentum. Norman rallied in the later rounds, but Haney regained command to seal the win. With this victory, Haney becomes a three‑division world champion — a major milestone that signals he’s ready to challenge the top names in the welterweight division. It’s a turning point for both fighters: Haney established himself at 147 lbs, while Norman suffered the first defeat of his professional career. The boxing world will be watching how they both respond from here.
